Bazadais bulls are exceptional terminal sires over Tropical and British breed herds. Hybrid vigour and Bazadais carcase traits dramatically increase lean saleable meat yield (73+%) making Bazadais sires ideal for weaner and yearling production and “paddock to plate” businesses.
Bull fertility and docility are paramount. All of our bulls are vaccinated and we are happy to provide a current Veterinary Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation on request. The bulls are quiet, have been trained to lead and are sold with our stud’s docility warranty.
The Bazadais breed is blessed with a large variation in frame score, muscling and softness. Our EBVs help identify the sire best suited to your needs.
Our Bazadais bulls are horned for a reason! Only horned Bazadais bulls’ crossbred progeny have won carcase competitions to date. Poll Bazadais bulls’ progeny have not. The reason? Removal of the horn gene on chromosome 1 necessitates the removal of thousands of other Bazadais genes also on chromosome 1. All of these Bazadais genes are replaced from the donor of the poll gene. These removed Bazadais genes influence many carcase traits, fertility and maternal qualities. It is impossible to remove the horn gene on its own. Poll Bazadais bulls (because the horn gene can only be removed with thousands of other Bazadais genes) cannot carry all of the genes that make Bazadais cattle unique in the Australian beef industry. Our horned cattle are guaranteed to carry all of the Bazadais genes that determine carcase traits that buyers want to breed into their calves.
All of our bulls are registered, backed by DNA and parent verification, so you can have confidence our bulls will pass on their Bazadais carcase traits.
