Carabeen Pax is a very quiet, soft, early maturing bull. As a yearling he is developing good depth in the flank and width from the shoulders to the hips. He moves freely and tracks well. His sire and dam have exceptional structural correctness and phenotype and we expect Pax to continue to develop in a similar manner. He has been trained to lead and is part of the Carabeen Show Team.
Sire (Carabeen Major) is a powerful combination of strength, softness and balance. His EBVs show low birth weight with high growth rate. His genetic testing shows high feed efficiency, EMA, IMF, P8 fat, tenderness and calving ease. His crossbred calves have all been low birthweight and early maturing with exceptional muscle pattern.
Dam (Carabeen Mystique) is a moderate framed female with exceptional length. Her EBVs are low birth weight and moderate growth weight. Her genetic testing shows high feed efficiency, IMF and calving ease.
Carabeen Pax won the Grand Champion Bazadais Exhibit at the Queensland Royal Show (EKKA) 2019. The judge commended the bull on his structural correctness (particularly his legs and feet) and noted his strong top line and marked softness (unusual for his age and breed).
Carabeen Lorry ticks all the boxes as a top stud Bazadais bull – wide from shoulders to pins, phenomenal length with strength of spine and large EMA, full in the hams (right down the pockets) and exceptionally deep.
At 1000kg in working condition he is a gentle giant, being the star attraction at Experience: Beef at the 2019 Queensland Royal Show (EKKA), with appearances on television (Sunrise) and numerous street parades.
The bull has been shown extensively winning Grand Champion Euro Bull at Casino Show 2018. His full sister won Reserve Champion Female at EKKA 2017 (field of 7) and his full brother had the largest EMA of all bulls for sale at the Tenterfield Euro Sale 2017.
Carabeen Lorry has been used both as a stud bull and over commercial Angus to produce top-line led steers. All of his progeny had average birth weight (38 – 42kg). His genetic testing shows high scores for average daily gain, tenderness, IMF, EMA, calving ease and docility. His overall genetic index was the highest of all Bazadais cattle (French and Australian bloodlines) tested (n=23).
In summary, Lorry is wide, long and deep bodied with an exceptional phenotype and data combination.
Carabeen Quincy is showing tremendous potential as a top stud bull at a very young age. His growth rate is the highest of all of our stud bulls to date, he is structurally correct and has a very docile temperament to match. He was shown at the EKKA 2019 as a calf at foot, with his dam winning Grand Champion Female Bazadais. He is assured of a highly successful show career.
Sire (Cesar) is a French sire whose genetic testing shows high scores for tenderness, calving ease and docility. Cesar is the most popular Bazadais AI sire in the UK where Bazadais bulls are widely used as terminal sires to produce premium veal.
Dam (Carabeen Mina) is our foundation stud female. Her phenotype cannot be faulted – width, strength of spine, depth and softness. She is from a famous French cow line and her genetic testing reflects the quality of her breeding - high scores for feed efficiency, EMA, stay-ability, calving ease and docility. Likewise, her EBVs show average birth weight and high 200 day, 400 day and 600 day weights.
